Here’s how some common terms and workflows translate between Zendesk Sell and Nutshell to get you started on the right foot.
What Zendesk Sell calls a Deal (an opportunity in your pipeline), Nutshell calls a Lead.
Every Nutshell Lead moves through stages in your pipeline just like deals in Sell, from the first stage all the way to Won, Lost, or Canceled.
In Zendesk Sell, a Lead is an unqualified prospect that you convert into a contact and deal. Nutshell simplifies this process—you’ll import those prospects as Contacts—People and Companies—in Nutshell.
When you’re ready to pursue an opportunity, you create a Nutshell Lead for that contact, which serves the same role as a Deal in Zendesk Sell.
Zendesk Sell’s Contacts (people and organizations you’ve done business with) are managed as People and Companies in Nutshell. Every person in Nutshell can be tied to a company, giving you a complete view of all interactions with that organization. Both People and Companies can be tied to a Lead record.
Think of it this way: You are trying to win a Lead by talking to People who work for a Company.
The calls and meetings you tracked in Zendesk Sell map to Activities in Nutshell (so you can report on every touch point). Your Sell to-do-related Tasks map to Tasks in Nutshell. You can schedule follow-ups, set reminders, and see every interaction on a contact’s timeline—keeping your team organized just like in Sell.
You can also add all of your Activity and Task types to Nutshell so that you can report separately on “meetings”, “emails”, “calls”, etc.
