Let’s get to know Nutshell SMS!
For your company to be eligible for SMS in Nutshell, you’ll first need to go through a required enrollment process. This one-time process ensures that your brand and campaigns are all set up to send text messages.
You’ll be assigned a company-wide phone number for text messaging and can choose the zip code for your company. You’ll also need to provide information about the types of texts you’ll be sending.
Approval may take a few days, and our support team will be readily available to assist you during this time. You can also check on your enrollment status on the SMS page.
Once your company is enrolled and approved, you’re ready to start sending texts!
You can send a text message to a lead or customer from the timeline of any person, company, or lead page. Click on the Send a text button to start a text thread in the sidebar.
You’ll then click into the text box here and start typing your message. One sent message uses one credit.
To make sure a conversation never slips through the cracks, admins can assign threads to different members of their team. Thread assignees have ownership over a text thread with a recipient and they’ll get notifications about their text threads so they can respond promptly.
The SMS page shows all of your threads in one place and breaks them down by conversation status:
Teams can also use text messages in sales automation to keep leads engaged during the sales process. You can add text automation to your pipelines, choose a sender, and set a delay before sending.
Use text automation to share your Scheduler link with leads, send a welcome message to new customers, or implement whatever SMS strategy works best for your company.
Nutshell SMS is currently only available for customers in the United States.
Nutshell SMS supports opt-out, as required by law. When a user opts out, you will no longer be able to send text messages to them.
Each SMS seat you purchase adds 150 messages to your company-wide message pool, and you have the ability to buy more monthly messages to add to your message pool.
For example: If you purchase 10 SMS seats, you will have 1,500 monthly messages in your company-wide credit pull to be used between your 10 SMS users.
You are only charged for each outbound message. Messages do not roll over from month to month. Check out our SMS page for more details.
Once your business is issued a texting number, you can receive incoming text messages from contacts even if a thread doesn’t currently exist. Nutshell will create a new unassigned thread for the conversation at the top of your Inbox view so you can assign it to the right team member.
Open text threads are pinned to the top of a company, person, or lead timeline. You can see a preview of the latest messages or any that are scheduled. The SMS page also displays all your texts threads organized by status.
Like with emailing in Nutshell, SMS lets you send messages to the person first associated with a lead.
