Integrate Google Sheets With Nutshell

➡️ Create new rows in Google Sheet for Nutshell leads.
⬅️ Create new leads in Nutshell from rows in Google Sheets.

Nutshell is an all-in-one CRM and email marketing platform that helps B2B organizations work together to win more deals. Google Sheets gives you organizational and analytical tools.

Benefits:

Save time: Spend less of your day doing manual data entry and importing/exporting contacts between Nutshell and Google Sheets.

What it does:

Our built-in Google Sheets integration automatically creates a new row in your Google Sheet when new Nutshell leads are created. This also works in reverse. When you add a new row in your Google Sheet, Zapier automatically creates a new lead in Nutshell.

In addition to our built-in integration, our Marketplace integration with Google Sheets powers:

  • Adding a row to a Google Sheet when a Nutshell lead is won
  • Adding a row to a Google Sheet when a Nutshell lead is created
  • Creating a Nutshell lead when a row is added to a Google Sheet
Fields that connect
  • Lead name
  • Phone / email / address
  • Lead value
  • Assignee
  • Pipeline
  • Tags
Requirements

You must have a Nutshell account, a Google Workspace account (starting at $6 per user, per month), and a Zapier account (starting at no cost).

Frequently asked questions

  • 1. Will syncing Google Sheets and Nutshell create duplicate records?

Not automatically. Zapier (which powers the integration) has built-in deduplication features that check for matching records before creating new ones. However, you should configure your Zap to search for duplicates based on email or a unique identifier to prevent accidental duplicates if the same contact is added in both places simultaneously.

  • 2. When should we stop using Google Sheets and upgrade to Nutshell full-time?

You’ve outgrown Sheets when: your team frequently loses track of who’s handling leads (version control issues), manual data entry becomes a bottleneck, you need automatic follow-up reminders, or you’re managing more than 100+ active leads. At that point, a dedicated CRM like Nutshell saves hours weekly through automation and eliminates human error.

  • 3. How quickly does data sync between Google Sheets and Nutshell?

Data syncs within minutes through Zapier, though the exact timing depends on your plan (Free plan checks every 15 minutes; paid plans check more frequently). For near-real-time updates, use immediate triggers whenever possible. Most teams see synced data appear within 5-10 minutes under normal conditions.

  • 4. Can we use Zapier to automate workflows between Google Sheets and Nutshell?

Absolutely. Zapier unlocks powerful automations: create Nutshell leads from Sheets rows, log call activities when leads are updated, send automated follow-up emails, or update pipeline stages based on Sheets data changes. This extends your spreadsheet’s capability while keeping Nutshell as your source of truth for customer relationships.

  • 5. What happens if the same record is edited in both Nutshell and Google Sheets at the same time?

Zapier follows a “last-write-wins” approach—whichever system updates last will overwrite the previous change. To avoid conflicts, designate Nutshell as your primary system and use Sheets for reporting only. Set Zaps to run one direction (Sheets → Nutshell) rather than bidirectional syncing.
