Here’s how a few common Freshsales terms map to Nutshell.
In Freshsales, your pipeline opportunities live in the Deals module, where deals move through a deal pipeline and deal stages.
In Nutshell, that same pipeline opportunity is called a Lead. A Nutshell Lead is an opportunity to make a sale (it’s synonymous with a “deal”), and it stays in your pipeline until it’s won, lost, or cancelled.
In plain terms: If you’re used to working with deals in Freshsales, you’ll be working with leads in Nutshell.


Freshsales uses Leads as a type of prospect record, and when a lead is ready, Freshsales converts it into a Contact, an Account, and a Deal.
In Nutshell, your contacts live as People and Companies, and your sales opportunities live as Leads.
In plain terms:
Freshsales tracks engagement through an activities timeline, including things like emails, phone calls, appointments, and tasks. It also refers to “Sales Activities,” with default types like tasks and appointments.
In Nutshell, Activities are customer interactions you schedule or log (like phone calls and meetings), while Tasks are reminders you check off.
In plain terms: If your team is used to logging meetings/calls and tracking follow-ups in Freshsales, you’ll keep doing the same in Nutshell—you’ll just separate logged Activities from reminder-style Tasks.
