Insightly pros

Let’s start by looking at some of the benefits of Insightly, including the following:

  • Ease of use: One of the best things about Insightly is that it’s so easy to use. With an intuitive interface and simple navigation, there’s a reason it’s so often praised as user-friendly.
  • Mobile app: Another nice thing about Insightly is that you can access it via a mobile app. That means you don’t have to be sitting at your desk in the office to upload new customer data.
  • Integrations: Insightly offers quite a wide range of third-party app integrations, some of which require an application programming interface (API) and some of which are native to the tool.

Insightly cons

Unfortunately, Insightly also has several downsides. Those downsides include:

  • Pricing: Though Insightly does allow for some different pricing options depending on which plan you choose, the best ones can get quite pricey, coming in as high as $99 per month.
  • Customer support: Insightly’s customer support is another low spot for this CRM. Many customers have indicated that the customer service team isn’t all that helpful.
  • Customization: For many companies, one of the most important aspects of a CRM is being able to customize it to your exact needs. However, Insightly offers almost no customization options.

Copper pros

Like Insightly, Copper has several advantages. Those benefits include:

  • Google Workspace integration: Copper puts a heavy emphasis on integrating with Google Workspace, and many customers say they love how seamlessly it integrates with Google tools like Gmail and Google Drive.
  • Sales forecasting and reporting: Another benefit of Copper is that it can generate comprehensive sales reports and even forecast future sales.
  • Workflow automation: Copper has an excellent and intuitive workflow automation system in place that allows you to easily automate specific sales tasks.

Copper cons

Just as Copper has its upsides, it also has its disadvantages. Here are some of the biggest ones:

  • Technical issues: Copper has been known to be quite glitchy, with particular tasks not going through or features suddenly becoming unavailable for short periods.
  • Lack of data editing: For some reason, Copper doesn’t really allow you to go in and edit data once you’ve migrated it into the platform. That means you can’t easily fix inaccuracies.
  • Overcharging: Another bizarre low spot for Copper is that if you cancel your subscription, they’ll often continue to bill you anyway, making it a huge chore to get them to stop.

Pricing

The pricing for Insightly and Copper is fairly comparable. Insightly’s lowest-priced plan is $29 per user per month, while its most expensive plan is $99 per user per month. Meanwhile, Copper’s lowest plan is $23 per user per month, while its most expensive is $134 per user per month.

To sum up, Copper has a slightly wider pricing range on both ends, but the two CRMs have similar pricing overall.

Ease of use

Another area where Copper and Insightly are similar is user-friendliness. Both of these tools have a reputation for presenting a clean interface and straightforward navigation, all without requiring a steep learning curve. That’s a huge benefit if you’re just getting started with a new CRM.

Because they both score so well here, there’s no winner in this category—it’s a tie.

Reporting

One of the most important features of a CRM is its reporting capabilities. You want to be able to generate reports based on the customer data you gather and manage on the platform. Thankfully, Insightly and Copper both deliver in this department.

As mentioned earlier, Copper’s sales reporting and forecasting are some of its best features. And Insightly doesn’t slack off in this category, either. It can generate comprehensive and customizable reports on various metrics of your choice. For that reason, this is yet another category where the two tools are about equal.

Integrations

Integrations are where we finally break the tie between Insightly and Copper. While both tools do provide a variety of integration options, one definitely offers more than the other.

Insightly has over 2000 integration options, one of the largest offerings of any CRM. Copper, on the other hand, only provides over 100—which, while not bad, pales in comparison to Insightly. For that reason, Insightly wins this round.

However, it is worth noting that Copper focuses on integrating with Google Workspace, so if you’re a heavy Google Workspace user, Copper may be a good option.

Sales automation

Finally, we have to consider sales automation. So, which tool does better in this category—Insightly or Copper?

Copper definitely scores well here. In fact, automation is one of its main points of focus, and it makes scheduling automated tasks simple. You can even integrate it with Zapier to boost your automation capabilities even more.

Insightly also has some high-quality automation capabilities despite not putting quite as much focus on it as Copper. You could argue that Copper wins in this category, but it would only be by a small margin, as both tools have excellent sales automation features.

Insightly vs. Copper: Which is better?

We can now return to the original question of this page: Is Insightly or Copper the better CRM?

The answer depends, as it usually does, on what your priorities are. If your highest priority is to have a lot of integrations, for example, Insightly may be the better choice. If you want a tool designed to work seamlessly with Google Workspace, you may prefer Copper.

Either way, the two tools are mostly on the same level, so neither of them is clearly the better choice. It just depends on your business needs. Of course, it’s possible that you end up deciding not to go with either of them and instead choose a different CRM altogether. Either way, be sure to make an informed choice.
